The Patchwork Pirates are at it again. This weekend, them boys have two parties for you. If you are in London (we see you Bryan), we highly recommend you check these out. More info after the jump. Monorex Presents: Chilly Con Carnage Here’s the spill, top dog street design collective Monorex throw the follow up to their now legendary London event. Representing street art in an opulent and decadent environment flips usual ideals around, throw in a live painting showcase courtesy of Squid Inc. crew and some of London’s hottest underground DJs, including the notorious swashbucklers, RabbitTusk friends The Patchwork Pirates and well, you’re laughing. The last event was particularly riotous as music was supplied by Jack Penate, a mere couple of days before the kid blew up and ended up in the Sunday supplements. This time round the crew who pledge to “make you dance all crazy, like Patrick Swayze” bring the dirty bump bump. The Patchwork Pirates drop mo’ bounty for yo’ booty bringing the hyphy, crunk, snap, ghetto tech, raga, broken beats, b-more blah blah - it’s the bass. Simply attend and revel in an evening of paint, debauchery and indulgence. Click here for flyer.
Shiva Soundsystem Presents: INNIT - Launch Party IN THE MAIN ROOM: Commix, Nerm, D-Code, Soldgie, secret dnb DJs and a VERY special live guest. HOLDING DOWN THE BACK: Sinden, Teens of Thailand, Bollywood Freaks, Patchwork Pirates, Hwen Rascale 10pm-6am. The launch party for hot new party Innit. Shiva Soundsystem have given DJs an opportunity to think outside their usual record box and flaunt the cherished vinyl they’d never normally get a chance to drop in public. Drum n bass DJs dropping techno bleeps, grimey dubstep and acidy electro 4/4 plods in the same set?! Meanwhile, they’re giving the back room to the pros. Take Sinden whose Bmore-crunk-dancehall-baile funk mash-up sound has scored him a storming residency with Basement Jaxx. Bollywood Freaks, who mingles Bollywood classics with everything from Noreaga to the White Stripes. Not to mention the East London underground sensations Teens of Thailand and Patchwork Pirates, clandestine beat rebels and blend legends that stylishly defy predictability with their distinctive grace. Then there’s Hwen Rascale who combines the party rocking style with turntablist trickery. SSS have a few very special guests tucked up their sleeves too. Some people use the words “very” and “special” rather loosely but, believe us, that’s definitely not the case here. Click here for the flyer. |
